SJ's Little Musings...

This week over on SJ's Little Musing blog, SJ has created this wonderful cupcake set for you to buy....just £1.50 for an amazing set, cupcakes with interchangeable tops...this one is the muffin top. I decided that it would make a cute corner bookmark, and decoupaged the top and added some Stickles to the choc chips.

The base of the corner bookmark is made from Bazzill kraft cardstock and I added some random spotted paper from a really old (2006) kit that I found in a box. I added a bit of SU choc chip taffeta ribbons and a couple of Heidi Grace pins (again from 2006) plus some Making Memories mini alpha's.

So far I have made a total of 8 corner bookmarks, but one has been given as a gift...so I have 7 for the Christmas Craft Stall I am doing at the school later this year....want to make sure I am organised this time...LOL

As predicted...

Just as I thought would happen, Georgia put her tag on her book bag for school on Friday and came home with a request from one of her BFF's....could she please have one. So last night I made another. This one is slightly different as I used the Tim Holtz Bingo Card embossing folder as the background with Vintage Photo Distress Ink rubbed over it. The beads are from a set I bought ages ago to make keyrings with, and apart from that all items are the same just in a different colourway. You can't see it but I have also spritzed it with Glimmer Mists.

Georgia and I are off to Sandown for the Craft Show....she is very excited and already trying to fleece me for more cash to spend.....she is a chip off the old block as they say...LOL

Be sure to come back tomorrow to check out my Anyone for Anya? design.....something a little different from me this time.....it's not a card!

Cute Card Thursday - A Tweet and a Flutter!

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog our theme is "A Tweet and a Flutter". We want to see your cards that feature either a bird or a butterfly, they can either be the main focus of your card, or be just part of the main image...or even an embellishment or the background papers...the choice is yours.

I made a card using the Tim Holtz Alterables birdcage die on my card, together with some of the gorgeous My Minds Eye Union Square papers available HERE from Dies to Die For. The birdcage was cut from the chipboard at the back of a 6x6 paper pad and has been inked with a Versa Color Platinum inkpad with clear embossing power over. I did this a few time to make the cage shiny. I also added some jewel drops that I got HERE and a couple of Tim Holtz Adage Tickets.

When Georgia was the card, she fell in love with the birdcage, so I made her this tag to add to her school book bag. I used all the same techniques but used black ink and black embossing powders. The background is created using a Tim Holtz Textures folder with Vintage Photo Distress Ink rubbed over it. I also added a few Prima roses and this time added purple heart gems to the birdcage...available HERE.

The card and tag are not my usual style, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself while making them.
