Tilda & Co Challenge 26 "Sketch this"

This weeks challenge over on Tilda & Co Challenge blog is a sketch. For mine I have used Skating Tilda, with a sentiment by Hero Arts. The papers are Basic Grey "Blush", the spearls are by Crystal stickers and the Alphabet stickers (UR) are by American Crafts. I have coloured Tilda with my Prismacolor's and blended with Sansador using paper stumps, I have then added some Sakura clear glitter gel pen to her hair and a white Signo Uniball for highlights.

A lovely simple sketch...simple but effective.

A Card from Georgia...

Yesterday while I was busy crafting Georgia insisted that I let her have a couple of images of my new Sarah Kay stamps. So after nicely colouring the image with her new Stabilo pencils (£5.59 from HobbyCraft). The pencils were a present from David & I for winning the colouring competition and getting us a meal out today,. She always watches me make cards and asks how I did things and now she loves to blend with Sansador and paper stumps.....I love it when she says Sansador, it sounds soooo cute. At school when she is colouring she tells the other kids and the TA (teaching assistant) that at home with Mummy she blends with Sansador....they have no idea what she is talking about, and usually ask me...LOL
The card is to give to Georgia's teacher at the end of the school year. Georgia actually told me what she wanted to put on the front and I found some stickers I had left from my May 2008 ScrapaGoGo Kit (they are by Jenny Bowlin). We had to adapt a couple of them as I ran out of t's, w's and o's...the t is made from an "l", the W is an upside down M, and a couple of the o's are made from c's.

Ismaki Challenge 25 by Malin

This weeks challenge over on the Ismaki Challenge Blog was set my Malin. It was such a pretty sketch involving the criss cross of ribbons/paper/fibres. So here is my card. I have used one of my new Sarah Kay stamps, the papers are the new Basic Grey "Euphoria" and I also added some pearls. The sentiment is by Stampin' Up and I used my punches for the circles. I have added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to her hair. I want to try the more watercoloured look on her, but I am not so good...need to practice, maybe in July I can get a one on one lesson with Marlene.....

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Challenge 3 "Colour"

This weeks challenge over on Penny Black Challenge Blog was "Colour". We had to use just three colours, brown, pink & green. I don't own a huge amount of PB stamp....I have 2 cats, 1 dog and about 4 girl ones...plus a couple of Xmas ones. I keep looking at the animal ones, but it is just too difficult to decide...and they aren't cheap.

Anyway for the card I used a stamp from 1999, "Clothesline Cat" , the paper are Basic Grey "Sultry". For the sentiment I use my ATB Tape Writer. For those who have asked, ATB = Around the Block. The Tape Writer is just like a Dymo, but with the added benefit that ATB have made the font wheels interchangeable. My favourite and most used font is "Ransom", but they also have a cursive font too. If you put Around the Block Tape Writer into Google...or your preferred search engine, you will find some UK stockists. Mine was from Oyster Crafts.

Any, thanks to the DT over on the Penny Black Challenge Blog...thanks for getting me using my PB stamps...as always your work was awesome.

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 8

This weeks sketch over on the Friday Sketchers Challenge Blog has been provided by Beatrix. I needed to make a birthday card for my nephew who will be 15 on the 1st July. I always seem to struggle with male cards so wanted to give myself plenty of time to make it. I used a Sugar Nellie...SK8R Boy, plus skulls and sentiment by Magnolia. The patterned papers are all "Archaic" by Basic Grey. I have coloured to image with my Prismacolor's and blended with Sansador using paper stumps

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 16 "No Patterned Paper"

This weeks challenge over on the Cute Card Thursday Blog is to use no patterned paper.....now it sounds easy....but I soooo wanted to use the new K&Co "Berry Sweet" papers that arrived on Wednesday. So on this card I have used 2 hAnglar & stAnglar images from the new stamp club and the sun and cloud are both by Sugar Nellie. I have added some Making Memories blossoms and the ribbon is by Stampin' Up. As we were not allowed to use patterned paper I have used DCWV self adhesive cardstock in Aqua and Brown.

There were so many lush cards made by the DT over on the blog....check out the link to the right and go and take a look...you won't be dissapointed and you will be inspired.

hAnglar & stAnglar Happy Birthday Cutie Pie

Last night I was eating some strawberries and decided that I wanted to make a card with my new stamp....and the K&Co "Berry Sweet" papers and bits I had just received....so here it is. The flower is an Auntie Bloomer all papers are K&Co as is the epoxy strawberry and alphabet. The cardstock is self adhesive stuff by DCWV. As always I have coloured with Prismacolor's and blended with Sansador using paper stumps.

A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 5 - Checks Galore

This week over on A Spoon Full of Sugar (see link on side bar) the theme is "Checks Galore". As always the DT have created some stunning work. For my card I have used a hAnglar & stAnglar stamp and coloured him with my Prismacolor's and blended as usual. I have inked the edge with "Ice Blue" chalk ink. The papers, cardstock ribbon and brads are all from my June ScrapaGoGo kit (the check patterned paper is by My Minds Eye. I have also added a Making Memories fish button and Doodlebug star button, with the sentiment being made with my ATB tape writer.

Thanks for the fab inspiration ladies...stunning as always.

Art Girlz Challenge 40 - Nature

OK, so I have put away my stamps and made a card without. The theme over on Arty Girlz Challenge Blog this week is "Nature" and I couldn't find a stamp....I know I have a Sunflower on somewhere...but do you think I could find it. So instead I have used some PaperMania "Earth Tones" papers, a Heidi Swapp lloom, Doodlebug buttons, Kaiser pearl gems, and a butterfly that I received as a free gift with order from Jasmines Crafts.

Initially there was no butterfly, but it was laying on my desk and just happened to (a) fit the theme, and (b) match the colour of my card.

A real change for me, but I am pleased with the card.

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge - Summer Blooms

This weeks Theme is "Summer Blooms" and as soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to do. You know the Anne Geddes babies in flowers...that is where the inspiration for this ATC came from.

I have used Sassafras Lass "Serendipity" papers for the background and one of the Shabby Chic range of Tilda's. She is coloured with Prismacolor's and blended with Sansador using paper stumps. The bloom is by Junkitz and the heart pin is by Fancy Pants and was included in the June 2007 ScrapaGoGo kit. The sentiment has been created with my ATB tape writer. For those of you that like the effect, Lidl are selling a Dymo Omega for £4.99, it will take all the tapes from ATB, the only thing it can't do that the ATB one can....is use different font wheels....but still a fab price.

Proud Mummy Moment....

The Sunday before Fathers Day we took my Dad out to dinner at the local Toby Carvery. While we were there they were running a colouring competition for the kids. Well Georgia took one of the printed pictures and sat and coloured while we waited for a table to become available. This restaurant is very popular as the roast dinner is always fab, so we had quite a wait (between 30-45 minutes). She sat and coloured so beautifully...although she was disappointed as there was no Sansador, so she couldn't blen...LOL. We went back on Monday last week but there was no mention of the competition, so we just assumed that she had not won. Anyway this morning a letter arrived saying that Georgia had won, and that her winning entry was displayed in the main entrance, and enclosed was a voucher for £40 so that she can take us all out to dinner...so guess where we are going on Sunday....needless to say we will be taking a photo of her next to her winning entry......She was so chuffed to win....now I just hope we can have the winning picture so that it can be included on a layout.

Tilda & Co Challenge 25 - Gone Dotty

This week over on Tilda & Co Challenge Blog they have "Gone Dotty". So here is my card, I have used one of my new Tilda's, Bandage Tilda and also the new "Old Stand" stamp. I printed the sentiment on my PC, and used my Stampin' Up scalloped circle punch. The papers are PaperMania "Retro Floral" and the ribbon was in the 99p bin at HobbyCraft. Tilda is coloured using my Prismacolor's and blended with Sansador using paper stumps. She has Sakura clear glitter gel pen added to her hair and wings.

Thanks to the DT for their amazing designs...totally gorgeous.

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 7 & Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Challenge 2 Friendship

I have combined another challenge. This time I have used this weeks sketched by Mumur over on Friday Sketchers, with a Friendship theme using a Penny Black stamp for Penny Black Saturday Challenge.

The Penny Black stamp is called "City Divine", the handbag is by Magnolia and the sentiment is by Stampendous and comes from a set called "Happy Messages". I have used Dena's Closet "Friends".

Have had a busy weekend, which started with a party at Georgia's teacher from foundation last year, and then yesterday with my Dad and Niece coming to stay and us all going to my Cousins 40th birthday BBQ in Thame, and then a nice family day at home today....so now is my chance to craft...yay!

New Magnolia Sea Collection Stamps

I have just seen that The Glitter Pot have the new stamps in...including Paddling Tilda which has sold out on the Magnolia website. Paddling Tilda is such a cutie...no wonder everyone wants her. I also think the flags are fab too.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 15 "Make a Birthday Card"

This weeks challenge over on Cute Card Thursday is to make a birthday card. So totally loving Marlene's card...I decided to use a similar colour scheme and the same hAnglar & stAnglar stamp. The papers are by Prima and Scenic Route from the May 2008 ScrapaGoGo "Create" kit. I have also added Making Memories buttons and flowers from the 5th Avenue range. The sentiment is by Hero Arts and coloured in my usual way.

I am really pleased with it, and love the colour combo.

Another Thank You Card

I am loving this new Tilda in the sea...she is just so darn cute. I have also used the new flag stamp by Magnolia and the sentiment is by Hero Arts. The papers are scraps from my June 2007 ScrapaGoGo kit, they are by Sassafras Lass and are called "Serendipity". As always Tilda is coloured with my Prismacolor's and blended with Sansador using paper stumps.

A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 4 & ArtyGirlz Challenge 39

For only the second time ever....I am combining challenges. This weeks challenge on A Spoon Full of Sugar is to make a celebration card. Well I know this is a "Thank You" card, but I made it to send to a lady in Sweden as she ordered me lots of Hanglar & StAnglar stamps...one of which I used on this card.....so I am celebrating the fact that I now own some of these gorgeous stamps. For the challenge over on ArtyGirlz this week we had to use pink....no problem there...my biggest challenge is NOT using pink.

So I have used a Hanglar & StAnglar stamp for the main image, with the flowers from Magnolia, and the sentiment is two stamps from a set of "everyday messages" by Hero Arts. The papers are by SEI "Gertie's Garden" and I have added bling and Sakura clear glitter gel pen to the image.

Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge "A Midsummer Nights Dream"

This weeks challenge over on Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge Blog was set by Guest Designer for June, Jacqui. Jacqui wants everyone to make an ATC with the theme of "A Midsummer Night's Dream". This was a tough one this week and had the Design Team scratching their heads, but early on I decided that I wanted to make an ATC that would open up. I have never read the book, or seen the play, so needed to find out what it was all about.
The inspiration for mine came from an image I found while doing a search on the internet (I am on the wrong computer, so will load it when I get home from work).
I used quite a few Magnolia stamps this week. The front was done with the star background that came out earlier this year. The inside was done with the "Carved heart tree", the "Steps", "Flower Power Tilda" and "Sitting Edwin. To make the Ass's head I initially use the head from "Tilda's Horse" but it didn't look right as it is just too horsey and not ass enough...LOL. So again I searched the internet with the intention of finding an image I could print out and use.....but after hours of searching I found that all the images were too big when printed....so I drew him myself from an image I found. All the images have been coloured with my Prismacolor's and blended with Sansador using paper stumps, and finally I added text with my ATB Tape Writer.

I hope everyone likes my ATC, and that they join in with this weeks challenge....I will be keeping my eyes on the Blog to see what you all come up with.

Thanks so much...

Another card for no particular reason/challenge. After being out all day on Sunday visiting my family, and having caught up with the weekly challenges while I was off work on Thursday and Friday, I just felt the need to colour....an irresistable urge...so I didn't resist and made this instead.

I have used a Hanglar & StAnglar stamped image that I was given by a friend, and the sentiment is by Hero Arts. The papers are all SEI "Gertie's Garden" that was in an old Scrapcanvas kit, plus a few added Prima blossoms from my huge stash of them....really am trying to make a dent in them....slowly but surely they are going down. Finally to the image I added my trademark Sakura clear glitter gel pen to the hair, and to the flowers a huge blob of Stickles glitter glue to the centre of each.

I am still suffering a little with my teeth, the whole jaw aches from the trauma of the extraction and I'm still taking my daily limit of Paracetamol. I am back at the dentist with Georgia for a check-up on Wednesday, so will get him to have a quick peek at mine and make sure all is OK.

My Magnolia order arrived this morning, so I will be busy stamping new images this evening....after a Stampin' Up Party that I am taking David's Mum to.

A card for no reason

I loved this Hanglar & StAnglar image as soon as I saw it....but it is one that I think is hard to use on a card....I decided that I was going to use it anway, as I really wanted to colour it.

So, as I have said the image is by Hanglar & StAnglar, and the sentiment has been created with my ATB Tape Writer using Dymo tape rather than ATB tape. The papers are all by Sassafraslass "Serendipity" that were from the June 2007 ScrapaGoGo kit, and the ribbon is by American Craft. The inage was coloured using Prismacolor's and blended with Sansador using paper stumps....with the exception of the sky (Chalk Ink - Ice Blue) and the grass (watercolour pencils).

I do love the image, and hopefully will get to own it, but want to see more examples of how people have used it to make a card.

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 6

This weeks sketch over on Friday Sketchers has been provided by DT member Jacqueline from the Netherlands. I am not so good at cards with a circle in them....I put that down to lack of a Cuttlebug and Nestabilities...LOL....no I haven't talked myself into buying one.

For this card I have used one of the Shabby Chic Tilda's and the Summer Background. The sentiment is by Stampin' Up "Circle of Friendship" set...they are a must have purchase. The papers are Basic Grey "Cupcake" and the ribbon is from the 99p range at Hobbycraft. As always the images are coloured with my Prismacolor's (apart from the grass, which was done with watercolours and the sky was done with a chalk ink pad) and blended with Sansador using paper stumps.

I have finally added a watermark to my card.....it has only taken me a while...LOL

Ismaki Challenge 23 by Beatrix

So finally I have finished. i don't know why but I always avoid sketches with the image in a circle....I am putting it down to not having a Cuttlebug and Nestabilities....am I making a strong enough case for buying one!!!

Anyway, I have used a Hanglar & StAnglar image given to me in a swap, and the sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts. The papers are by Making Memories "Noteworthy" and were left over from my January ScrapaGoGo kit, the letter stickers are by American Craft and were from the same kit. The ribbon was also in the kit, but I don't know the manufacturer...but it is just an organza ribbon. I have coloured the image with my Prismacolor's and blended with Sansador using paper stumps. To her hair I have added Sakura clear glitter gel pen, and Stickles to the centres of the flowers in her headress.

Once I got over the circle element, I really enjoyed the challenge this week, so much so that I am going to definately try it again.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 14 "Three"

This weeks challenge over on Cute Card Thursday is to use three embellishments, and although I am suffering after having a tooth extraction this morning....making this card has helped me concentrate on something other than the pain.

I have used a Hanglar & StAnglar image given to me by a blogging friend. The papers are Sassafraslass "Serendipity" the sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts, for my three embellishments I have used Bling, Ribbon and I made the cupcake embellishments by stamping, colouring, and using glossy accents to make them into epoxy style and the added stickles for the sprinkles. The image is coloured with my Prismacolor's and blended with Sansador using paper stumps.

Thanks for the challenge this week, it certainly helped me take my mind off my teeth....if only for a while.
