Cute Card Thursday Challenge 12 "Patterned Paper"

This weeks challenge over on Cute Card Thursday is to use patterned paper....no problem for me....I find it harder NOT to use it...LOL.

So for this card I have used a Hanglar & StAnglar image that I received in a swap....fingers crossed I will be the proud owner of an order from http://www.hanglar.com/ . The sentiment is by Hero Arts. I have used Prima "Dude Collection" papers and KI Memories lace cardstock. I made the scalloped mat by using a SU corner rounder.....now I just have to pick up all the pieces from the floor... As always the image is coloured with my Prismacolor's and blended with Sansador using paper stumps.

Magnolia Paper Doll Tilda

When I saw the card Claudia made as Guest designer on Arty Girlz Challenge Blog, it was like she had been reading my mind. I had received the new Paper Doll Tilda and had stamped an almost finished colouring her.....the papers were already picked and were laying on my desk.....so it seems so rude not to use her design too.....Thanks Claudia, I love the idea and will use it again.

So apart from Paper Doll Tilda from Magnolia, I have used a Hero Arts sentiment. The papers are basic Grey "Two Scoops" the ribbon is by American Craft and the flowers are by Prima....the buttons are from my button stash mountain....trust me it is a mountain (I must take a photo to show you all).

Ismaki Challenge 21

This weeks sketch on Ismaki Challenge Blog was provided by the super talented Claudia....member of the Magnolia DT amoung others....she really is a super talent.

So this week I put my Magnolia's down and have used my new Stampin' Up pickup truck....isn't it cute. The sentiment is also from the same set. The papers are K&Co "Hopscotch Boy" an the buttons are Doodlebug & American Craft. The ribbon is from Hobbycraft's 99p range. I have also used my Stampin' Up spiral punch to make the notepaper effect on the image.

Lovely sketch Claudia thanks so much.

Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge "Beside the Seaside"

Well finally I have made something I can actually share. This week has been busy, I finally started to feel better on Monday after being ill with the stomach bug that Georgia had earlier last week. While I was ill I couldn't take my antibiotics for my tooth so that started to get worse again. I had to go to a family funeral on Tuesday as my Uncle Peter died a couple of weeks ago. I was lovely to catch up with family, and chat about the past. I had to take Georgia with me to the funeral as everyone who could have looked after her for me was away. I was initially worried, but she was so well behaved, she sang the hymns in the crematorium, and was great back at the pub where we had a buffet and drinks. Yesterday I was back at the dentist and had a couple of small fillings...I had to have one of my wisdom teeth filled....now I have jaw ache as it felt like the dentist had his whole hand in my mouth....LOL

Anyway after all that I finally had some time to make something....I am behind with some of the challenges, but decided to start with the current one and if I get time I will catch up with the others from this week. So here is my ATC for the Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge "Beside the Sea". I have used my new Shabby Chic Background for the clouds and sun and cut them out. I also stamped Mermaid Tilda but cut her out of the rock she was sitting on and raised her on foam pads and left the stone unraised. The sea was done with torn bits of paper...I think the paper was Blonde Moments (the range with the cars). The sky is done with an Ice Blue chalk ink pad, Tilda is coloured with my Primacolor pencils and blended with Sansador using paper stumps. She is very sparkly as her wings, hair and tail have Sakura clear glitter gel pen on them.

A lovely summery challenge this week to get me back in the groove...if only I could actually catch up.

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 3

Here is my card for this weeks sketch over on Friday Sketchers. I have used my gorgeous new Magnolia Lilac Tilda and the wall. The papers are K&Co , the sentiment stamp and butterfly are by Hero Arts, the ribbon is by American Craft, and the flowers are by Prima. I have added a button from my stash to the middle of one and the other two have epoxy glitter stickers. I also added a little Sakura clear glitter gel pen to Tilda's hair and the lilacs, and her wings have added diamond Stickles.

Another lovely sketch again this week...they just keep getting better.

Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge "Birds of a Feather"

Finally between Georgia being ill at the begininng of the week, and my tooth infection, I got this ATC finished. I am pleased with the multiple masking...I did about 4 layers of masking, although the dark sky didn't come out as well as I hoped...I was looking for the mottled look as if you have ever noticed, when you look up at the sky at night it is never all the same colour.

Anyway, my tooth is a little better, so I intend playing catch up this evening with all the challenges...especially as my new Lilac Magnolia's and Paper Doll Tilda's arrived...yay...only took one week.

Sugar Nellie Sweet Ebony - Flowers

I just had to have another play with my new stamps last night....I really should have been processing photos to print for GoGo Getaway...but how's a girl to resist cute stamps!

Anyway I have used scraps of PaperMania "Retro Florals" paper, the sentiment is by Stampin' Up and I have also used their Spiral Punch to create the notebook effect on the paper. The final touches are the Prima "Got Flowers"....I do need to use them all up as I have loads from over a year ago when I went through my Prima addiction. The centre of the Primas have been decorated with mini buttons and glitter dots.

Sugar Nellie Sweet Ebony Stamps

Yesterday I received my order of Sweet Ebony stamps from Funky Kits, and it was just too hard to resist stamping a couple of them and making a card.

This stamp is called "Picking Apples" and I love it....well they are all too cute for words, but this is the first one I used. For the card I have also used the "So Sweet" Stamp that came as an extra when you ordered the whole set of 6 stamps. The papers are Basic Grey "Sugared", the ribbon is Choc Chip Taffeta by Stampin' Up. I used the Stampin' Up spiral punch to make the ripped notepaper, and the scalloped circle on the sentiment. The flowers are by Prima and the buttons are from my stash.

The images was stamped in Dark Brown Stazon and has been coloured with my Prismacolor pencils and blended with Sansador using paper stumps...and of course there is the addition of a small amount of sparkle by using a Sakura clear glitter gel pen on her hair and in the centre of some of the flowers.

Stampin' Up Project

I went to a Stampin' Up Party last Thursday and we made this cute project...it is a gift card/cash....inside there is a little envelope decorated that contains a card with a decorative paper clip to attach the cash...can easily make slots for a gift card.

Had a lovely evening at Ness's amazing Eco House......it was truly amazing....not practical for my family, but stunning all the same. Michelle was as always fabulous...she is one glam lady.

Arrggghhhh Dentists

Today I have an appointment with the Dentist. I think/am pretty convinced, that I have an abscess.....I haven't been to the dentist in **cough cough** years....In fairness I have had no pain or problems...until now that is. As a teenager I had to have 4 or 6 teeth removed, and see an orthodentist....and since then I have a natural fear of ALL dentists. I had to bite the bullet yesterday and book an appointment....so at 9.45 I can almost guarantee I will be scared and in pain. One of my bestest buds (thanks Lyns) is coming with me to hold my hand....

Hopefully once I have sorted this out, I will be able to spend some time crafting today. Georgia is off school sick, but my mind is racing so I have not been able to concentrate on crafting...well better go get myself dressed and away....Back laters.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 10 "Vacation/Travel"

This weeks challenge over on Cute Card Thursday is "Vacation/Travel", now I think this is a popular theme this week....maybe all the challenge blog DT's are on the same wavelength as they all seem to have chosen the same/similar challenges. Anyway this week I have used another Penny Black stamp. I got this stamp a few years ago on eBay in an auction that included three cat stamps. The papers are 7Gypsies and I have used some KI Memories Love Elsie "Toby" rubons and epoxy stickers. The other stamp is by Imaginisce and the ribbon is by American Craft.

Thanks for the challenge, more great work from the DT again this week....a group of very talented ladies.

Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge "Green"

This weeks theme over on Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge Blog is "Green"....and finally here is mine.

I have used K&Co "Berry Sweet" paper for the background, Tilda with bird (minus the bird), and a Magnolia butterfly (the small one). I have coloured the images with my Prismacolor's and blended with Sansador using paper stumps. The wings are done with stickles and the hair has added Sakura clear glitter gel pen.

Another lovely challenge ladies, and as always your work is inspiring and stunning.

hAnglar & stAnglar Summer Club Kit

I have just seen pictures of the new Summer Club Kit, and they are gorgeous....it really is torture that we cannot get hold of them. I ask all the people I know whether they have a contact in either Sweden or Norway...but so far no luck...the nearest I have got is Denmark....close, but not close enough...LOL

I really should stop looking as it is torture.....but here they are.

Too cute for words....

Ismaki Challenge 19

Here is my card based on Ismaki Sketch Challenge 19. I had a slight opps...I made the matt larger than the card, so it wouldn't fit without hanging over the edges...but I like it so it stayed.

I have used the scraps from my May ScrapaGoGo kit...I loved the Pink Paislee "Office Lingo" paper. The images is by Hanglar & StAnglar and was sent to me recently in a swap with a fab and talented lady over on UKS. The fish buttons are by Making Memories and the sentiments are by Hero Arts. I have also used some gorgeous Bazzill Bling Cardstock, also from the May ScrapaGoGo kit.

This weeks challenge was lovely and I may well have to use this sketch again.

Georgia's birthday is on Friday and she is very excited. I have been and bought some fab pressies and I think I am almost as excited for her to open them as she is....LOL

Tilda & Co Magnolia Challenge Blog

This weeks theme over on the Tilda & Co Magnolia Challenge Blog is "Black & White". They challenge us to use ONLY black and white on our project. Now I have cheated ever so slightly as I have added skin tone.....otherwise he looked like a ghost/vampire...LOL

So I have used a Charming Edwin image and coloured him with my Prismacolor's blended with Sansador using paper stumps. The papers are by Jenni Bowlin (they are mini 4x4 ones), and I have added 7Gypsies postmark rubon, and the other rubons are by Luxe Designs....to make a little sparkle I have added Sakura Clear Glitter pen to the roses ans around the edges of the image mat.

Now this was a challenge because I really really wanted to add a little red.

Scrummy Stash Cafe Challenge & Arty Girlz Challenge "Travel"

This weeks challenge over on Scrummy Stash Cafe Challenge Blog and Arty Girlz Challenge Blog is to create a "travel" themed project...eith a layout, card or other project...and for the first time ever I have combined challenges.

I made a card with my new Magnolia Eiffel Tower stamp, and Paris Tilda....to create a background I have used clouds from the Magnolia Spring Stamp Club, a bee stamp from an older release, and the sun is a Sugar Nellie. The papers are by Lasting Impressions "Summer Love". The "Bon Voyage" postmark is by 7Gypsies.

Check out the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog and the Arty Girlz Challenge Blog and see what everyone else came up with.

Shabby Chic Magnolia Card

I have been having a play around trying to create more intricate backgrounds with my Magnolia's...here is what I did yesterday afternoon. I have used one of the new Shabby Chic Magnolia's for the main image and the brickwall. The clouds are from the Spring stamp club and the bees and butterflies and the heart are just regular ones from older releases. The sun is a Sugar Nellie. I have used Basic Grey "Cupcake" papers and American Craft ribbon and the sentiment is one from a set from Stampin' Up. To create the notepaper effect on the image I used a Stampin' Up punch.

I need more practice on this style of card....but will keep trying, but I am pretty pleased with my first efforts...have a way to go to match the skill of Kim, and other talented ladies.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 9 "Gems & Jewels"

This weeks challenge over on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog is "Gems & Jewels". All that you need to do is use them on your card....now that is easy...I do love to add a little Bling Bling!

This week I have used my new Panduro stamps for the character. The background swirl is by Magnolia and the sentiment is by Hero Arts. I have used Basic Grey "Sultry" papers, Bazzill Blossom and the bling was from Design Objectives....I got a large set of the from QVC.

Yesterday was Craft Day on QVC and I wanted a few snippets and all I ordered was a kit of 54 reels of ribbon...velvet rickrak, organza....lots of different sorts....and it looked fab. The TSV looked lovely, but I really don't need to order any more patterned papers...I could open a shop with the amount I have...LOL

Masking Technique Tutorial

It seems a few people wanted a step-by-step on the masking technique, and while I am no expert, I wanted to share my love for this technique with everyone.

So step one is to stamp two images the same.

Step two is to cut out one of the images. Cut very close the the outer line, the closer the better, but don't cut through.

Step three is to use a craft knife to cut any parts between the shoes and legs that you cannot get to with scissors

Step four, you should now have two images one cut and the other still on the cardstock

Step five is to attach the cut out image to the one still on the cardstock with repo Herma (or similar brand) Step six attach the image over the topStep seven is to take the background stamp that you want to use and ink it up.
Step eight is to stamp the background over the top of the covered image
Step nine is to remove the mask from the original stamped image
Step ten, now you have removed the mask you are done...colour your images as usual
See it is as easy as that, there is no real mystery. If I can master this technique, trust me, anyone can. I hope you have found the tutorial helpful, and if you have any other questions...let me know. One thing to remember is that it is important to pick the right image to mask. One with lots of intricate edges will be harder to cut and the results may not be as good...depending on the quality of your cutting...so pick an image with a clean silhouette.
